Hi,

I'm Daryl aka DJ Dazza. 

What is this all about and why am i doing this ? 

I fell in love with music at a very early age. 

My father was heavily into soul and blues which was constantly played in our humble home. 

Back in 1974 a new radio station began in our area 'Radio Hallam', it was great, they played the current hits and classics from the past. 

From that tender age I wanted to be a DJ. So armed with a small record player and a tape recorder I did... I played my own records from Showaddywaddy to Sam Cooke (my dads of course) and with what little spending money I had i'd by Pop-Ex records from the local newsagent. 

Pop-Ex, were records that had been used on jukeboxes around the country and were sold on after use at around 40p.

I'd record my shows onto a cassette tape and play them back to my parents and friends... it was a great time for me.... long before digital recording came along.

It wasn't until I turned 18 that i had my own decks and own mobile DJ business that I ran for a good few years. Being able to drive helped a lot back then.

Fast forward to the pandemic and the advent of online broadcasting... I produced a weekly show called 'The Soul Clan' playing mainly soul, blues and funk on Mixcloud, which was well received by those who heard it.

Today, i'm playing tracks old and new(ish) from Ska to Rock to Soul to whatever you want to hear.

Some you'll know well, some you won't one thing i'll try to bring is the love of music, because 'Music is Love'
